Naryshkin announced the expansion of the supply of Western shock offensive weapons to Kyiv

The West is expanding the volume and list of deliveries of shock offensive weapons to Kyiv. About it declared director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Sergei Naryshkin in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“We, of course, note the expansion of both the volume and the range of military equipment supplied to the puppet Kyiv regime, including offensive strike weapons,” he said.

According to Naryshkin, this is due to the fact that the United States and its allies are going to “wage war with Russia to the last Ukrainian.”

On January 25, Germany announced the delivery of 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Kyiv. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius specified that the first military equipment would arrive in Ukraine in late March or early April. Poland, Finland, Norway, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands also announced plans to transfer tanks to Kyiv. The UK is also going to send its Challenger 2 to Ukraine.

On the same day, the United States announced the transfer of 31 M1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, specifying that the delivery of military equipment would take months. Later, US President Joe Biden announced that the volume of the new military aid package would be $400 million. He stressed that the West’s actions to help Ukraine do not pose a threat to Russia.

Earlier today Reuters reportedthat the United States plans to provide Ukraine with a new $2.2 billion military aid package, which will also include missiles with a range of 150 km.

In addition, after the transfer of tanks to Kyiv, NATO countries began to actively discuss the possibility of supplying fighters, wrote Politico newspaper. Among the ardent supporters of the idea of ​​sending fighters to Ukraine, the Baltic countries are mentioned. French President Emmanuel Macron also did not rule out the possibility of deliveries of aircraft to Ukraine. The authorities of the United States and Germany adhere to a different position, stating that the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine is “impossible at the moment.”

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. After that, Western countries began to provide military assistance to Ukraine and imposed large-scale sanctions against the Russian Federation.

The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to Kyiv. In particular, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.
