Having studied the demand, analysts of the domestic tourism industry have identified the top 5 most popular holiday destinations for September-October within the country, and at the same time “painted” an approximate portrait of a “velvet” tourist.

But first of all – the main thing: in comparison with last year, tours to the Russian sea coast for autumn have risen in price by an average of 10-15%. True, the autumn tourist cashback can become an incentive for a trip.

In the first place in the ranking of demand is Sochi, despite the “pandemonium and abnormal prices”, as some picky vacationers see this resort. The main Russian resort still has no competitors this year. As of August 1, Sochi bookings for September are 72% more than exactly a year ago.

Apparently, thanks to the working Adler airport, Abkhazia broke into the “silver” winners of the hit parade (41% of all autumn bookings, which is 15-20% higher than a year ago).

In third place are Anapa, who are going to the sea in September, despite the fact that they will have to “cut” from Adler, the closer southern airports are closed.

The top five for the velvet season is closed by Kavminvody and Gelendzhik. And here is the main surprise: Crimea did not enter the top 5 for the velvet season at all! Moreover, experts expect that the demand for the Crimea will be half (!) Less than last year.

– Most of the bookings are made 3-10 days before arrival, – they comment in the capital’s travel agency, – so we will get the final picture by September 1st. But Crimea is definitely an outsider. Weather and geopolitical cataclysms and the lack of an airport did their job.

And here is a portrait of a lover of the velvet season in his native Fatherland: these are couples 50+, companies of this age and older, grandparents with preschool grandchildren and lovers. Moreover, the first and second choose mainly sanatoriums from the restored Soviet ones with well-established sanatorium-and-spa treatment. And the third and fourth – depending on the possibilities, either expensive boutique hotels or guesthouses without stars at all, the main criterion is intimacy and privacy.

Therefore, the duration of “velvet” bookings is either very short (romantic weekend) or longer than 2 weeks in summer (21 or 24 days of spa treatment). Promoted city hotels are not so in demand in the fall, besides, they also “lift up” prices. For example, a week in a famous four-star hotel in the center of Sochi will cost 80 thousand per person, this is without flights and meals and in a double room (that is, you need to find a partner to relax, otherwise you will pay twice as much for a “single”).

And here is the hit list of the minimum prices for the velvet season. For comparison, a week was taken from September 7 to September 14 for two without a flight and meals, only accommodation in a double room. Sochi from 15 thousand rubles, Abkhazia from 19 thousand rubles, Anapa from 10 thousand rubles, Gelendzhik from 16 thousand rubles, Tuapse from 11 thousand rubles. At the same time, a week-long tour to Anapa with included bus transportation for lovers of the velvet season in their native Fatherland will cost about 28 thousand rubles for two.
