Politician Boris Nadezhdin filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of Russia to challenge the decision of the Central Election Commission to refuse to register him as a presidential candidate, according to his website.
From the information on the website it follows that the claim was filed on February 16 and accepted on the same day. The court hearing on the claim is scheduled for February 21, 10:00 Moscow time.
On February 8, the Central Election Commission refused to register Mr. Nadezhdin as a presidential candidate. Based on the results of checking 105 thousand signatures that the politician submitted to the Central Election Commission, the Central Election Commission commission considered 9,147 signatures invalid and 95,587 signatures valid.
On February 12, Mr. Nadezhdin filed two lawsuits with the Central Election Commission in the Supreme Court – challenging the form of the inspection sheet and challenging the form of the list of collectors. On February 15, the court rejected both claims.
