The well-known American businessman and billionaire Elon Musk expressed his opinion about the comments of Twitter users related to the publication of the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev about the situation in Ukraine. Musk said in a tweet that people should make their own decisions about what information to read.
On April 8, on Medvedev’s Twitter page, an English-language publication appeared in which the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation expressed the opinion that no one needs Ukraine and will soon disappear.
This caused a backlash from Twitter users, who accused Musk of “failing to comply with sanctions” against the Russian Federation and “allowing Russian leaders back on the platform.”
Musk disagreed with these accusations and stated that every person should have the right to freedom of speech and expression of their thoughts. He emphasized that news to a certain extent will always be propaganda, and therefore it is important that people independently analyze information and make decisions based on their own beliefs.
In addition, he said that Twitter will neither promote nor restrict the accounts of Russian government entities, but will quickly stop any attempts to deceive the system.
