Music teachers will be allowed not to pay taxes on awards

This year 150 Russian teachers became laureates

The list of awards in the field of culture, literature, art, tourism and the media, from which the state will not deduct tax, is going to be replenished with one more item. It is assumed that the winners of the Prize for the best teachers in the field of musical art, established by the Decree of the President of Russia in March of this year, will not pay taxes. The public discussion of the relevant resolution of the Government of Russia ended on October 13, and an independent examination of the document is now underway.

As it became known to MK, the first applications for the award were accepted last August, the winners were selected by September 30th. They were 150 teachers from most regions of Russia. One hundred teachers of children’s art schools will receive 500 thousand rubles each, 25 teachers of schools and colleges – one million, the same award has been awarded to 25 university teachers.

The list of tax-free awards in the field of culture, literature, art, tourism and the media was approved by the Russian Government in February 2001, these are both Russian and international awards, including, for example, the Nobel Peace Prize. Since then, the list has changed several times, usually upwards, the last time was in July of this year, when it was replenished with the item “Award of the International Competition of Pianists, Composers and Conductors named after S.V. Rachmaninov”. If approved, the Music Teachers Award will be ranked 49th on the list.
