Moskalkova called on the Speaker of the Turkish Parliament to stop arms supplies to Ukraine

Human Rights Ombudsman in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkov appealed to the Chairman of the Turkish Parliament, Mustafa Sentop, with a request to stop military support for Turkey in order to avoid further escalation of the conflict. She announced this in her Telegram channel.

“I turned to Mr. Shentop with a request to stop the supply of weapons to Ukraine in order to avoid further escalation of this situation,” wrote Moskalkova.

She also noted that at the meeting with Shentop, which was also attended by the Ombudsman of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets and the Ombudsman of Turkey Sheref Malkoch, an important thesis “on the need for a ceasefire” was voiced. According to Moskalkova, this is an important condition for preventing violations of human rights, in particular, the right to life.

On January 11, the meeting of the Russian Ombudsman Tatiana Moskalkova with the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets took place. During the talks, the parties discussed issues of providing humanitarian assistance to citizens of the two countries, Moskalkova specified in the Telegram channel. She also told on the exchange of lists of missing servicemen with the Ukrainian Ombudsman.

The fact that Moskalkova and Lubinets will meet became known on January 9th. Reportedthat negotiations will take place on January 12-14 in Turkey on the sidelines of the Future of Human Rights in the 21st Century forum organized by the Turkish Ombudsman.
