The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, addressed international human rights organizations in her Telegram channel. She stated that French law enforcement agencies acted very harshly against the protesters against the pension reform.
Among other things, she called for a legal assessment of what happened.
“I express my concern about the brutal actions of the French police towards the protesters in Paris and other French cities. They fired tear gas at water cannons. At the same time, hundreds of people were detained. I appeal to human rights activists and ask them to evaluate the brutal actions of the police,” Moskalkova said.
According to her, at the moment, the people of France are outraged that the government adopted the reform bypassing the vote in the lower house of parliament. Thus, they failed to comply with democratic procedures.
