Moscow will not supply spare parts to countries that transferred weapons to Ukraine

Russia stops the supply of spare parts for Russian and Soviet military equipment to unfriendly countries and revokes licenses for the right to repair such equipment. About this “Interfax” informed Head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia Dmitry Shugaev.

During the Army-2023 forum, Shugaev said that such measures are being taken in response to the transfer of equipment to Ukraine. Russia revokes licenses for the right to repair military equipment of Russian and Soviet production. In particular, licenses for the repair of Mi-type helicopters were revoked from a number of enterprises in Bulgaria and the Czech Republic.

“Deliveries of spare parts and components for aviation and other equipment of Russian / Soviet production located in unfriendly countries are also suspended,” Shugaev specified.

He added that the agency is closely monitoring the transfer of military products to third countries, and recalled that such deliveries are possible only after the buyer provides an end-user certificate. In accordance with this document, the importer “undertakes obligations not to transfer the received products to third countries without the official consent of the Russian side,” the head of the department specified.

In June at FSMTC declaredthat Russian weapons are illegally re-exported to Ukraine and often end up on black markets. Prior to this, the department accused Slovakia in gross violation of international obligations on the re-export of Russian-made weapons in connection with the transfer of MiG-29 aircraft to Ukraine. On the transfer of these aircraft to Kyiv also informed Polish President Andrzej Duda.
