Moscow Exchange (MOEX: MOEX) announced on the exclusion of Qiwi depositary receipts (MOEX: QIWI) from the stock indices since February 27. Yesterday, February 21, Bank of Russia recalled license to carry out banking operations from Qiwi Bank (part of the Qiwi group of companies).

Qiwi receipts are excluded from the main exchange indices. Including the Moscow Exchange index and the RTS index, the Moscow Exchange-active management index, the Moscow Exchange and RTS broad market indices, the Moscow Exchange and RTS finance indices, the Moscow Exchange and RTS indexes of medium and small capitalization. From January 29, Qiwi depositary receipts were transferred to the third level of Moscow Exchange listing. From February 22, the Moscow Exchange introduced a ban on short sales using Qiwi receipts.

The Bank of Russia announced the revocation of the banking license from Qiwi Bank due to the participation of the financial organization in settlements between individuals and crypto exchangers, bookmakers, and online casinos. Today, February 22, the regulator excluded Qiwi Bank and its Contact payment system from the register of payment system operators.
