Alfa Bank plans to launch virtual mobile communication services in the second half of 2024. For this purpose, the credit institution registered a subsidiary company in the field of communication services – Alfa-Mobile LLC. From the Unified State Register of Legal Entities data provided by Interfaxit follows that the authorized capital of the new company is 100 million rubles.

“The Bank plans to offer its customers mobile communication services under the Alfa-Mobile brand in the second half of 2024. Currently, the top team of the project has been formed, negotiations are underway with potential partners for the project,” said Ivan Pyatkov, deputy chairman of the board, director of the bank’s retail business (quoted by RIA Novosti).

Ivan Pyatkov noted that the creation of a virtual mobile operator is one of the stages in the implementation of Alfa Bank’s retail business strategy. Basically, the strategy is aimed at expanding the range of non-financial services of Alfa Bank and strengthening the value proposition of the everyday bank model and monetizing the growing portfolio of clients, explained Mr. Pyatkov.

A number of large banks have virtual mobile operators. For example, Sberbank has SberMobile, VTB has VTB Mobile, Gazprombank has GPB Mobile, Tinkoff Bank has Tinkoff Mobile.
