On August 26, until 17:00, electronic systems are being tested in Moscow, which will be used during the September municipal elections. This is the official website of the Mayor of Moscow mos.ru.
During testing, participants can familiarize themselves with the voting process. As part of the test, you can answer the question “What improvements will help make your area more comfortable?”. All Muscovites can join the voting.
The autumn municipal elections in Moscow will work electronic registry. It will allow voters to decide directly on voting days how it is more convenient for them to vote – online or at traditional polling stations. The electronic system must recognize which of the two methods the voter has chosen. Therefore, in order to exclude the possibility of double voting, voting testing will take place both online and in person.
Due to the use of the electronic register, precinct election commissions will not know how many citizens are registered for the DEG. They will track only those who come to vote in person.
On September 9-11, direct elections of heads of 14 subjects, deputies of six legislative assemblies and 12 representative bodies of the capitals of the regions will be held in Russia. In total, almost 4,700 election campaigns will take place in Russia during this period.
CEC head Ella Pamfilova discussing upcoming elections with Russian President Vladimir Putin saidthat the “transparency and openness” of elections in Russia “is an order of magnitude higher than in those unfriendly countries that consider themselves democratic.” Vladimir Putin said that Russia needed a “strong rear” in the form of a “reliable, democratic, developing political system.”
