Moscow and Minsk are considering the possibility of creating combat training centers where the military of the two countries will be trained for almost all types of troops, director of the second department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexei Polishchuk said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to the diplomat, the centers are planned to be created on the basis of existing military units.
At present, the organizational part of the issue is close to completion, and the parties are completing the ratification of the relevant agreement, Polishchuk said.
Previously, the fighters of PMC “Wagner” were moved to the territory of Belarus. Assistant to the Minister of Defense of Belarus, head of the main department of ideological work Leonid Kasinsky said that the Belarusian army is glad to have the opportunity to learn from the “Wagnerites”.
It was also reported that in Belarus work continues on the infrastructure for deploying Russian tactical nuclear weapons, the Ministry of Defense and the KGB of the republic were instructed to develop an algorithm for its use if necessary. Earlier, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) on the territory of Belarus was his initiative. He expressed confidence that the use of these weapons would not be required.
