According to a survey by the recruiting company Get experts, 54% of Russians want to change jobs, the majority due to dissatisfaction with their salaries. A third of employers said they made efforts to retain employees.

The survey involved 2,396 employers and 3,484 employees from various sectors of the economy and from almost all regions of the Russian Federation. The results of the study are reported by TASS.

Of those who want to change jobs, 17% of respondents are actively searching, 18% plan to start looking for a new job in the near future, 19% – no earlier than in a year. 20% of respondents are looking for work passively, considering only incoming offers. 26% do not intend to change their place of work.

Among the reasons for changing jobs, respondents cited dissatisfaction with financial remuneration (57%), lack of opportunity for career (35%) and professional (24%) growth, stress (22%), burnout (21%), lack of interesting tasks (21%). ).

65% of respondents declared their readiness to change their field of activity, another 7% are looking for work in another industry. 23% do not want to change it. 86% expect an increase in income after changing jobs. Of these, 8% expect wages to increase by 5–10%, 31% by 11–20%, and 49% by more than 20%. 6% are convinced that income will not change, 6% admitted its reduction.

Employers say it is becoming more difficult for them to attract qualified workers. They attribute this to rising salary expectations (48%), lack of competent personnel in the market (41%), and lack of specialized specialists (25%).

Companies are paying more attention to training employees (70%) and promoting them to other positions (58%). To attract personnel, they cooperate with universities (47%) and recruiting companies (35%), and also work to strengthen HR departments and consider candidates from other regions and industries. 11% of companies did not experience a shortage of personnel.

Among the main methods of finding candidates were websites (83%), direct search for specialists (51%), networking/word of mouth (43%). 32% of enterprises made efforts to retain employees by offering them an increase in income in their existing position (73%) or with expanded functionality (59%), as well as a promotion (44%) and an increase in bonuses (26%). 48% of companies did nothing.

42% of employers said that staff turnover remained unchanged in 2023, 37% said it would increase, and 16% said it would decrease. Most often, companies tried to retain specialists in the areas of sales (23%), production (20%) and IT (19%).

As a survey of Russian businesses conducted by Kommersant showed, employers have different assessments of the government initiative to create a five-year forecast of the economy’s personnel needs starting in 2024. Some companies, including state corporations, make such forecasts themselves ten years in advance, since their business requires long-term planning, and consider them to be quite reliable. Others, on the contrary, believe that the greatest accuracy in calculating personnel requirements is only on a one-year horizon.
