Before that, loudspeakers asked women, children and the elderly to leave Rustaveli Square. The protesters tried to break into the parliament building. In the temple opposite, the rally participants tried to hide after using stun grenades and tear gas.
After dispersal, the police cordoned off the area. When the protesters were pushed back, mass detentions began. It is known about the detention of the leader of the opposition party “Girchi – More Freedom” Zurab Japaridze.
According to TASS, more than a thousand people came out to protest against the law on foreign agents.
