In the new package of anti-Russian measures, the European Union has included more than 90 companies around the world that circumvent sanctions.
President of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen stated this on Saturday in an interview with the ZDF (Germany) channel.
“We are serious about stopping sanctions evasion,” said the head of the EC
For this reason, as she noted, the 11th package includes “more than 90 companies around the world for which … there is clear evidence that they are violating sanctions.”
Von der Leyen explained: “that is, they supply sanctioned goods directly to Russia from the European Union, bypassing through third countries.”
Earlier it was reported that as part of a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, the EU for the first time proposed to impose restrictions on 7 Chinese companies in connection with the sale of dual-use goods to Russia. According to the Financial Times, 2 mainland Chinese companies – 3HC Semiconductors and King-Pai Technology and 5 Hong Kong companies – Sinno Electronics, Sigma Technology, Tordan Industry, Alpha Trading Investments and Asia Pacific Links, are included in the draft sanctions lists.
For the same reasons, they want to impose sanctions against companies in Armenia, Iran, Syria and the United Arab Emirates.
Restrictive measures must be approved by all EU countries for their adoption.
