More than 600 people have been killed in clashes in Sudan informs Al Hadath TV channel, citing data from the country’s Ministry of Health.
“More than 600 people have died in clashes in Sudan,” Health Minister Haytham Mohammed Ibrahim said. According to him, as a result of hostilities in Khartoum, 125 hospitals were seriously damaged.
Clashes between government forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan have been occurring since April 15. The World Health Organization previously indicated that about 300 people died in total, 2,000 people were injured. The reason for the conflict was the attack of the Sudanese army on RSF units in the south of Khartoum. At the same time, the transitional government accuses the paramilitary group of attempting a rebellion.
The country’s ambassador to Moscow, Mohammed Sirraj, earlier pointed out that the Sudanese representation does not receive any instructions from the RSF commander, Mohammed Hamdan Daglo. According to the ambassador, since the beginning of the Sudanese crisis, his embassy has been in constant contact with the Russian Foreign Ministry.
On April 19, the parties concluded a truce, but a few hours later the clashes continued.
