More than 40 payments, benefits and compensation will be indexed by 7.4% from February 1, 2024, Interfax reports with reference to the Ministry of Labor. According to the department, indexation will affect over 20 million Russians receiving government support.
Indexation will affect maternity capital, a one-time benefit at the birth of a child, a monthly child care benefit, a monthly cash payment to veterans, and a monthly insurance payment, said the head of the ministry Anton Kotyakov. The Ministry of Labor recalled that the indexation coefficient is set every year from February 1, based on the consumer price index for the previous year.
Since 2024, the minimum wage (minimum wage) in Russia has been increased by 18.5%, to 19,242 rubles. The government said that as a result of increasing the minimum wage, wages would increase for 4.8 million people. In addition, from January 1, insurance pensions of unemployed citizens increased by 7.5%.
