More than 1,500 military exercises began in the Kaliningrad region

More than 1,500 servicemen are involved in command and staff exercises in the Kaliningrad region, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reports.
“As part of the exercise, naval tactical groups will leave their bases at the appointed time and deploy fleet forces in designated areas of the Baltic Sea to perform training tasks,” the report says (quote by Interfax).
During the exercises, ship groups of the Baltic Naval Base will carry out practical rocket and artillery firing to hit ships and aircraft of a mock enemy.
In November, comprehensive exercises were held by counter-terrorism units in formations and military units of the Baltic Fleet stationed in the Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions.
The exercises involved armored personnel carriers BTR-82A, armored vehicles “Tigr-M”, “Typhoon”, special vehicles based on UAZ – in total up to 50 units of military and special equipment, about 1,000 military personnel.
