More than 10,000 military to take part in the Victory Parade in Moscow

More than 10,000 military personnel and 125 weapons will take part in the Victory Parade in the Great Patriotic War on May 9 in Moscow. This was announced by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

“Our people remember well the lessons of the past, they know that only by rallying can we defeat the enemy, protect our home, children and country. Unfortunately, now we are seeing the revival of the disastrous ideology of Nazism, attempts to rewrite history, to justify criminals on whose hands the blood of civilians,” he said, commenting on the preparations for the parade (quote according to TASS).

The minister specified that in 2023 military parades to mark the 78th anniversary of the victory would be held in 28 Russian cities. In total, more than 55,000 people and about 1,200 pieces of weapons and military equipment will be involved in them.

In 2022 in the Victory Parade in Moscow accepted participation of 11,000 military. 131 units of modern weapons and military equipment were also involved. It was planned to hold an aviation unit with 77 aircraft and helicopters, but due to adverse weather conditions it had to be cancelled. In 2021 at the event participated more than 12,000 military personnel, as well as over 190 pieces of equipment.
