In total, as part of the “grain deal”, more than 1.2 million tons of grain and other food products have been exported from the blocked ports of Ukraine since August 1, follows from a UN statement. transmits Interfax.
“As of August 29, the total tonnage of grain and other food products exported from three Ukrainian ports is 1,289,065 tons. In total, at the moment, the movement of 122 ships has been allowed – 67 arriving in Ukrainian ports and 55 leaving them,” the statement said.
In addition, today the Joint Coordinating Center (JCC) gave permission to leave Ukrainian ports under the Istanbul deal for six dry cargo ships carrying a total of 121,451 tons of food, including 102,415 tons of corn. Also today, the vessel Karteria will leave the port of Yuzhny with 37,500 tons of wheat purchased by the World Food Program, it will go to Turkey.
On July 22, representatives of Turkey and the UN signed separate agreements with representatives of Russia and Ukraine on the export of Ukrainian grain from the ports of Odessa, Chornomorsk and Yuzhny, as well as on assistance in the export of Russian grain and fertilizers. July 27 in Istanbul, the SKC began work on the export of grain. Within the framework of the agreement on grain, it is also expected to remove restrictions on the export of Russian food and fertilizers.
According to the Turkish Ministry of Defense on August 26, about 800,000 tons of agricultural products were exported from the blocked ports. On August 22, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that a total of 31 ships left the Black Sea ports with 689,000 tons of food on board.
