In Warsaw, at the presidential palace, in the presence of the head of state Andrzej Duda, the swearing-in ceremony of the government of Mateusz Morawiecki took place. The event was broadcast live by Polish television channels.

In the new Polish government, the number of ministers has been reduced from 27 to 17, with eight portfolios going to women. The only minister who retained his post was the head of the Polish Ministry of Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak.

Shimon Szynkowski vel Senk was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new government. And the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs was headed by Pavel Shefernaker.

Morawiecki’s cabinet will still have to receive a vote of confidence in the Sejm in two weeks.
