Morawiecki: Warsaw is exploring the possibility of increasing the production of ammunition for Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the country’s authorities are considering the possibility of increasing the production of ammunition for Ukraine. He noted that now there is not enough ammunition in Europe, and if Polish firms could produce more artillery shells, this would allow them to be sold for European money and sent to Ukraine. Thus, Poland would not only benefit strategically and geopolitically from supporting Ukraine, but also directly financially benefit from production in the country.
Morawiecki also said that he instructed the Minister of Defense to check the possibility of quickly starting the process of producing ammunition in various places in Poland due to insufficient production of this product in the country.
Earlier at the European Union summit in Brussels, EU leaders supported a plan to accelerate the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine, joint purchases and an increase in military production. It is assumed that within 12 months Ukraine will be supplied with one million ammunition, as well as joint purchases and production to replenish stocks of EU countries and ensure supplies to Ukraine in the medium term.
