Monument to Gorky demolished in Odessa

According to local media reports, a monument to the writer Maxim Gorky has been dismantled in Odessa. The monument was, judging by the published photos, during the “dismantling” was badly damaged.
“In Odessa, on the territory of the Gorky sanatorium, a bust of the Russian writer Maxim Gorky was dismantled on November 13. This decision was made by the management of the institution,” writes the author of one of the Telegram channels.
Local sources also cite health resort director Tatyana Malykhina as saying that “the bust is not a historical heritage.”
Earlier, it was repeatedly reported about the demolition or “sending for storage” by the local authorities of Ukrainian cities of monuments to prominent Russian statesmen of the pre-communist period, which formally, it would seem, could not fall under the laws on “decommunization”.
