Mongolian protesters storm government building

Protesters in Ulaanbaatar broke into a government building amid riots over the theft of coal that was supposed to be exported from Mongolia to China. About it informs local edition 24tsag.
First, the protesters broke the metal gate in front of the government building. After that, they broke into the palace through the main gate. Six people were injured in the clash, including four palace security personnel. The road to the state residence of the head of government is blocked.
News.mn portal informsthat the Ministry of Justice of the Republic decided to forcefully disperse the demonstration. By order of the capital’s governor, a proposal was made to disperse the demonstration if the protesters did not disperse within two hours. It is specified that about 90% of the citizens gathered on the square are students.
Mass protests began after local media disseminated information about the theft of coal. According to unofficial sources, we are talking about 6.5 million tons of coal worth 60 trillion tugriks ($1.8 billion) exported from Mongolia to China. Also, the media reported that the PRC provided the Mongolian authorities with the data of politicians involved in the theft, and now the demonstrators demand to punish them.
