“Money is not always for the better” – Kommersant FM

They are strangling on all sides, but we are still the first in Europe: Vladimir Putin assessed the prospects for growth of the national economy. According to this indicator, Russia has surpassed Germany and ranks fifth in the world. According to the president, this is an amazing result. Meanwhile, Putin again explained why problems with chicken eggs arose in the country. The reason is the growth of incomes of the population. Kommersant FM political commentator Dmitry Drize believes that the chicken issue has not been fully resolved.

Everything is fine with us, we can repeat this again. We overtook Germany and other unfriendly countries. Eggs are just getting more expensive, but this is also a positive thing in its own way. The people got money, the authorities didn’t even expect it. It was necessary to connect import in time – we didn’t get our bearings.

Now we’ll probably fix everything. Although there are different expert opinions, they say that prices for this food product have reached relative equilibrium, a certain normality. So, maybe they will decrease, but not much.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin met with local entrepreneurs in Khabarovsk. Shareholder of the Komsomolskaya poultry farm Lyudmila Kuznetsova told the president a terrible story with a happy ending: more than a year ago there was an outbreak of bird flu, killing more than 500 thousand chickens. “Probably with God’s help, with the faith of Governor Mikhail Vladimirovich Degtyarev in us and, probably, responsibility to the population that we still feed, in December we produced 25 million eggs at two poultry farms,” said Kuznetsova.

Here it is probably necessary to recall that Mikhail Degtyarev replaced Sergei Furgal in the post of Khabarovsk governor. Last one now is serving long sentence for serious charges. There were protests in the region about this at one time, but, apparently, now everything in the region has calmed down. So the prices for eggs are low.

It is difficult to say how positive the fact is that we are now forced to import eggs, that is, spend freely convertible currency on them, or purchase them through barter, in this case it does not matter. Apparently, someone somewhere is missing something on the chicken side. Either the external environment is failing, or bird flu is rampant, as mentioned above. Another will again raise a sensitive topic and say: Germany has been overtaken, but we buy eggs in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Belarus.

In general, it turns out that money is not always for the better. Without them, it turns out there are fewer problems: nothing goes missing, everything is on the shelves and the price does not increase.

And the president does not need to apologize to the Russian people for this. This question, of course, is more philosophical. But responsible comrades, as they say, take note – it’s time to think about increasing the reproduction of their own laying hens. Moreover, this issue is periodically discussed at the very top, so there is still something to work on.
