Moldovan authorities will classify information on the amount of accumulated gas

From December 5, Moldova will classify accurate information on the volume of accumulated gas in the storage facilities of Romania and Ukraine, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic Andrei Spinu, writes TASS.

“From now on, we will not announce how much gas we have in storage in Ukraine and Romania for security reasons,” Spinu said.

According to him, Moldova is provided with gas “for at least two months.” The authorities of the republic will publish only the time interval of the reserves: for how long the accumulated gas will be enough for the country, Spinu said. According to the latest data, write RIA Novosti, Moldova had about 250 million cubic meters. m of gas in reserve.

In Moldova, a similar decision to classify information was made in relation to electricity. The fact that the republic will no longer publish data on electricity flows and the state of power grids, reported Prime Minister Natalya Gavrilitsa. According to her, the decision was made on the recommendation of the Ukrainian side “for security reasons.”

Funds for the gas deposited on the territory of Ukraine, intended for consumers in Moldova, have been received from Gazprom. Gazprom also drew attention to “the regular violation by the Moldovan side of contractual obligations in terms of payment for Russian gas supplies.” If violations continue to be recorded, “Gazprom» reserves the right to reduce the volume of gas supply or to completely stop the supply of energy resources, the company stressed.
