Moldovagaz fully paid Gazprom $41.9 million in advance for gas supplies in November

The Moldovagaz company (50% owned by Gazprom) announced the full payment of the $41.9 million advance payment to the Russian company for gas supplies in November. This was announced by the chairman of the board of “Moldovagaz” Vadim Cheban in his Telegram channel.

Until November 21, Moldovagaz transferred to Gazprom an advance payment in the amount of 50% of the cost of natural gas for November this year in the amount of $21.41 million, while Moldovagaz’s obligations for the November advance increased to $41.9 million.

“Taking into account the advance payments already paid for November in the amount of $21.41 million, the amount of the advance payment arrears for November is $20.49 million, or about 402.7 million lei,” said Mr. Ceban. “Moldovagaz” ensured the transfer of this debt, he stressed.

Gazprom and Moldovagaz extended the gas contract in October 2021. After that, “Moldovagaz” several times asked for a debt deferment due to “discrepancy between tariffs and gas prices.” Gazprom lowered gas price for Moldova for November by $209 compared to the previous month.

November 22 Gazprom threatened reduce fuel supplies to Moldova, since, according to the company, since the end of September, the country has been selling part of the gas supplied under the contract with Gazprom to Ukraine. Later Russian company reportedthat will not reduce gas supplies to Moldova through Ukraine, since all violations have been eliminated.
