The German Federal Network Agency BNetzA has changed the daily weather forecast in the country. The indicator “stable” changed to “tense”, it follows from data agencies. This indicator predicts temperatures for the next seven days 0-2°C below the average for 2018-2021.
According to the agency, the shortage of gas in the country with the onset of cold weather in winter can be avoided, including if the resource savings are at least 20%. In “tense” weather conditions, data agencies, gas savings range from 15 to 25%.
Storage facilities in Germany are 98.52% full. Before the start of the military operation in Ukraine, about 40% of the gas supplied to Germany came from Russia. According to the report of the Ministry of Economy of Germany in August, Norway replaced Russia as the largest supplier of gas to Germany – the share of its imports increased to 38%. By mid-2023, Berlin plans to rebuild its gas infrastructure to reduce dependence on Russian gas. For example, Germany intends to build floating LNG terminals.
