According to Moldovan Minister of Infrastructure Andrei Spinu, the country will not be able to purchase gas from Russia’s Gazprom to replenish its reserves using loans from the European Bank.

“We entered into an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, having received a loan in the amount of 300 million euros. Seven companies from which we can purchase gas were also approved, Gazprom is not included in this list. The country can only spend this money on gas “, – the minister explained on the air of the Jurnal TV channel.

He stressed that the authorities cannot use this money to compensate for the high cost of fuel for citizens, they will only allow diversifying suppliers.

The Moldovan government will use these credit funds if Gazprom cuts gas supplies to the country by at least 35%.
