Moldova declared the president of the Russian Union of Lawyers an undesirable person

The Moldovan authorities declared the President of the Union of Lawyers of Russia (UAR) Igor Trunov an undesirable person and did not let him into the republic, informed TASS lawyer himself.

The lawyer arrived in Moldova to participate in the international economic and investment forum on May 11-13 at the invitation of the ex-premier of the republic Vasily Tarlev.

According to Trunov, he and several other Russians were held at the airport in Chisinau for almost two days in police custody. All of them were ultimately denied entry with the wording “unwanted persons could not confirm the purpose of the visit”, deporting them from the country. At the same time, Trunov claims, the security forces took away his phone and deleted the photos and videos of their illegal actions taken by him.

Earlier on April 17, the authorities of Moldova announced head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov as an undesirable person. Then the deputy of the Moldovan parliament, Alexander Sukhodolsky, said that despite the official invitation to the congress “Friendship of Peoples – 2023” (timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Russian Community of the Republic of Moldova), which was held for the first time in the Moldovan city of Comrat, upon arrival in Chisinau, the head of Tatarstan “did not even they let me down from the plane” and handed me a document with a refusal to enter.

At the end of April, Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced that the authorities had drawn up a long list of people who were banned from entering the country. The list is not disclosed, because many of those who are on it learn about the ban only when they try to enter the republic. This list also includes Russian President Vladimir Putin, Rechan said.
