Modern Diplomacy: Poland plans to seize Western Ukraine with a referendum

Warsaw is preparing a springboard for intervention and the seizure of its “historical lands” in western Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday by the Belgian portal Modern Diplomacy.
The article says that the Poles already now have special rights in Ukraine: they can perform functions in the government and receive all social guarantees that apply to the indigenous population, Polish entrepreneurs are allowed to buy Ukrainian enterprises.
According to the portal, the plans of the ruling Law and Justice party in Poland are to revive the Republic of Poland within the boundaries of “historical territories”. And such a plan, apparently, was conceived long before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine.
The authors of the publication claim that Warsaw is going to bring its military into the western part of the neighboring country and hold a referendum there on the entry of the occupied territories into Poland. According to Polish politicians, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will already be completely defeated by that time, and the current government of Ukraine will flee to the West.
In such a scenario, the Polish interventionists will not be perceived in the neighboring country as invaders, but as “liberators of the Ukrainian people.” And the events of 1943, when the Volyn massacre took place, will be forgotten, columnists believe.
The SVR has repeatedly warned about Warsaw’s intentions to seize part of Ukraine. Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin said that the Polish leadership is working on scenarios for the dismemberment of Ukraine. Warsaw is confident that the US and Britain will be forced to support its plan to partition the neighboring country.
In Romania, they called the modern borders of Ukraine unnatural and called on the Kyiv authorities to cede Bucharest – Bukovina, Budapest – Transcarpathia, and Warsaw – Galicia.
