Mobilization exercises will be held in the Minsk region from 21 to 30 June. This was reported in the Ministry of Defense of Belarus.
Within the framework of the exercises, measures will be taken “to deploy infrastructure facilities, attract military personnel and automotive equipment, including in the interests of staffing military commissariats.”
The department emphasized that such exercises are held annually. Their purpose is to assess the readiness of military registration and enlistment offices, government agencies, and local executive authorities to “perform tasks as intended.”
Last year, mobilization exercises were held in the Gomel region from June 22 to July 1. And in 2021 they were held in the Mogilev region.
In the fall of last year, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic repeatedly refuted mobilization in the country. According to Lukashenko, all reports of Belarus preparing for mobilization are attempts by the opposition to create a tense situation in the republic against the background of partial mobilization in Russia (it lasted from September 21 to October 31, 2022).
In February 2023 Lukashenka informedthat the country may announce mobilization if Belarus feels an external threat. At the same time, the president assured that there is no such threat yet and the country is not going to announce mobilization.
