Mobile temples based on UAZ “Patriot” will appear in the Russian army

Oleg Veselkov, head of the department for interaction with religious associations of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Russian Armed Forces, said at a round table within the framework of the Army-2022 international forum that experimental mobile field temples would be created for the Russian Armed Forces on the basis of the UAZ Patriot. According to him, the relevant terms of reference for the Mobile Complexes and Systems Design Bureau have already been prepared.
The design bureau is to create models of “mobile, based on the UAZ Patriot car, and field, based on a modified model of an army tent, points of work with religious servicemen,” Veselkov specified.
He also recalled that field objects of religious worship are being equipped everywhere in the RF Armed Forces, and there are standard cabins on submarines and ships for this purpose. The representative of the Political Directorate also indicated the regions in which Russian military priests work today. In addition to Russia, these are Ukraine, Syria, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Nagorno-Karabakh.
