Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called on young people to go to work at domestic industrial enterprises and create new engines, aircraft and cars. He spoke about this during a visit to UEC-Kuznetsov in Samara.
“I want to appeal to the youth. Guys, come to domestic high-tech enterprises, design engines, technologies, rockets, new aircraft, cars… We have something to do in the country,” he said (quote according to TASS).
At the same time, the prime minister noted that many young employees also work at UEC-Kuznetsov, and over the past four years, the company’s staff has been updated by about 40%.
In July Mishustin saidthat over the past four years, industrial production in Russia has increased by 7%, in 2023 the positive dynamics accelerated and in May exceeded 7% in annual terms. Russia, according to the Prime Minister, managed to demonstrate a positive trend in industrial production despite the disruption of supply chains and unprecedented sanctions pressure. The Prime Minister named the machine-building complex as the main driver, which in May managed to almost double its output compared to May 2022.
According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), industry, construction and trade provide growth of the Russian economy this year by 1.7%. In April, the Ministry of Economy improved its growth forecast for the Russian economy from -0.8% to 1.2%, while the forecast for 2024 was lowered from 2.6% to 2%. By 2026, GDP will grow by 3%, Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said at the extended board of the department. He called the recovery of consumer demand the main source of growth.
