Mishustin: trade between Russia and China will grow to $200 billion

By the end of this year, the trade turnover between Russia and China may reach $200 billion, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai.
“I am sure that this year we will fulfill the task set by the heads of our states, to bring mutual trade to $200 billion,” the prime minister said (quote according to RIA Novosti).
Russia became the seventh partner of China in terms of trade turnover in the first quarter of 2023 – trade increased by almost a quarter, to $52 billion. data premier, volume of mutual trade in 2021–2022 grew by about a third annually.
On May 22, Mishustin arrived on his first official visit to China as head of the Russian government. During the working visit, it is planned that the prime minister will attend a meeting of the Russian-Chinese business forum, visit the Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemistry, meet with the president of the BRICS New Development Bank and representatives of Russian business circles.
The press service of the government announced that after that the prime minister will travel to Beijing, where he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang.
