Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved the idea to organize the process of rehabilitation of the participants of the special operation on the basis of Mineralnye Vody. Such a proposal at a meeting with the prime minister was made by the plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) Yuri Chaika.
Chaika noted that the Caucasian Mineral Waters were “historically used” for medical treatment. He recalled that during the Great Patriotic War, 900,000 people underwent rehabilitation in sanatoriums. There are 120 sanatoriums in the region, 30% of them are engaged in the treatment of the musculoskeletal system, the plenipotentiary added.
“We will make branches in all subjects of the Russian Federation, including in the North Caucasus, then please submit all the proposals that we have, we will definitely consider them, report to the president, see what we can do,” Mishustin replied to Chaika’s proposal (quote according to TASS).
In January, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to create a center for drug supply, rehabilitation and socialization of participants in the special operation whose health was damaged.
In addition, in April the head of state signed decree on the creation of a fund to support participants in the special operation. The goal of the fund is targeted assistance to veterans and participants in the special operation, as well as to the families of the victims. We are talking about psychological, medical assistance, employment assistance, organization of long-term care at home, etc.
