He expressed his most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and stated that “we mourn for everyone.” Mishustin noted that an investigation into what happened is now underway, and those responsible will receive their well-deserved punishment. “They do not deserve mercy,” the prime minister emphasized.

He noted that the relatives of the dead and injured will need psychological and financial assistance. The government, on the instructions of the president, is ready not to provide. “It is important that help comes as quickly as possible,” Mishustin emphasized. He also expressed confidence that terrorists will not be able to intimidate the country.

It should be noted that the tragedy at Crocus City Hall renewed the discussion about the abolition of the moratorium on the death penalty. Calls for the return of the death penalty for terrorists are heard from all sides. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin “is not currently taking part in this discussion.”
