In 2022, Russia is facing monstrous fraud in the Western media, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a speech at a government media award ceremony.
Mishustin noted the work of Russian journalists in 2022, pointing out their responsible approach to the selection of facts and work with sources. At the same time, he pointed to unreliable information in foreign media.
“We are all faced with monstrous falsifications in the Western media. Both the oldest, once respected publications and new resources of the blogosphere are engaged in propaganda in the worst traditions,” declared Mishustin.
The Prime Minister paid special attention to the activities of military correspondents. He noted the work of journalists Yevgeny Poddubny, Semyon Pegov, Andrey Rudenko, Marina Akhmedova and others.
The ceremony of awarding the Government Media Prize takes place on the eve of Russian Press Day, which is celebrated on January 13. Earlier today, parliamentary journalists were also awarded by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. He clarifiedthat at present the pool of journalists in the State Duma consists of 1,050 people.
