Mishustin: Russia continues to fulfill food export contracts in good faith

Russia continues to responsibly and conscientiously fulfill international contracts for the export of agricultural products, fertilizers, energy carriers around the world, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a plenary session of the Eurasian Congress.

Against the backdrop of market turbulence, Mishustin noted, Russia is aware of the role of the supply of socially significant goods for developing countries. According to him, the Russian side under the international convention on food assistance assumed “increased obligations.”

“Only through the UN World Food Program over the past 3.5 years, they have provided support in various regions of the world in the amount of about $ 200 million,” the prime minister cited the data.

Speaking at the plenary meeting Mishustin emphasizedthat the level of food security in Russia is one of the most reliable in the world. The prime minister also announced Russia’s readiness to share its experience and best practices.

At the end of May, Russian President Vladimir Putin declaredthat the country always conscientiously and responsibly approaches interaction with other countries, fulfilling its agreements in full and on time. Prior to this, the head of state in his address at the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum pointed outthat Russia is in favor of building a mutually beneficial partnership with other countries in the political sphere, in the field of security, in the economy, sports, culture and science.
