Mishustin relieved Artemyev from the post of assistant to the prime minister

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin dismissed Igor Artemyev from the post of his assistant. Order published on the legal information portal.

The document clarifies that Artemyev was relieved of his post at his own request.

Interfax with reference to its own sources writesthat Artemyev can head the St. Petersburg International Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange instead of Alexey Rybnikov.

Artemyev has been in politics since 1989. In 1990, he was elected to the Leningrad City Council and was chairman of the commission on ecology and urban management. He headed the regional party of the center, which later became the basis of the St. Petersburg organization “Yabloko”. In 1994, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg, the author of laws of St. Petersburg in the field of electoral law, budget process, taxation, borrowing policy and tax incentives, urban financing and ecology.

From 1996 to 1999 served as the first vice-governor of St. Petersburg. In 2001-2008 – Deputy Chairman of the Yabloko Party. On March 10, 2004, he was appointed head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation. On November 11, 2020, Artemyev was removed from his post as head of the FAS and became Mishustin’s assistant.
