Military correspondents and political analysts received honorary awards
On Thursday, Mikhail Mishustin presented Russian journalists with the Russian government’s media awards. This year, there are 65 people on the list of laureates – employees of both federal news agencies and television channels, and regional newspapers from the Russian hinterland.
At the ceremony dedicated to Russian Press Day, the prime minister emphasized that “now work in the information space is a very important battlefield.” Mishustin especially noted the responsibility of journalists in the context of a special military operation.
“I want to thank them for their courage, for their steadfastness in covering a special military operation,” said the head of the Cabinet.
Journalists of the Rossiya Segodnya news agency Alexander Kharchenko, Sergei Shilov, Viktor Antonyuk, and Konstantin Mikhalchevsky received an award for covering events on the fronts of the Northern Military District. Also in this nomination, the government award was received by Zvezda TV channel correspondents Pavel Kutarenko, Roman Zakurdaev and Victoria Kosoglyadenko.
“They risk themselves, fulfilling their professional duty, creating a clear picture of events from Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson region, and border regions of Russia,” Mikhail Mishustin emphasized.
For his outstanding contribution to the development of domestic media, the award was received by OTR General Director Vitaly Ignatenko. For their contribution to the analysis of events not only in the Northern Military District zone, but also in other hot spots of the planet, the presenters of the TV program “Big Game” Vyacheslav Nikonov and Dmitry Simes were awarded the prize.
The team of the oldest author’s television program in modern Russia, “Postscriptum,” headed by Alexei Pushkov, received an award in the category “for their great contribution to the development of information and analytical broadcasting, enhancing the best traditions of domestic television and high professionalism.”
