The meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State with the participation of the Presidents of Russia and Belarus Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled for April 6 “for now”. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, transmit “RIA News”.
“I am convinced that the decisions and agreements adopted today will serve to further strengthen the agreements within the Union State, will become a good basis for preparing the upcoming meeting of the Supreme State Council, scheduled for April 6, with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and President of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko,” the prime minister said.
Earlier, in the press service of the Belarusian president, following the February 5 telephone conversation between Lukashenka and Putin reportedthat the meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State is tentatively scheduled to be held in April-May 2023. It is assumed that all the necessary documents formalizing the “existing agreements” will be signed at the meeting.
The Supreme State Council of the Union State includes heads of states, governments and heads of the chambers of parliaments of Russia and Belarus.
On March 17, Vedomosti reported that Putin will meet with Lukashenka on April 6 in Moscow. On this day, a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State will take place, two sources close to the presidential administration and diplomatic circles said.
