Mishustin instructed to work out the development of a program of preferential car loans

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed to work out the development of a program of preferential car loans, about this reported in the press service of the Cabinet.

The instruction was given to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Finance following the meeting between Mishustin and members of the Federation Council. Departments need to work out the proposals of senators on preferential car loans before October 1. In addition, they need to work out the issue of extending the requirements for the localization of the production of cars that are rented for state and municipal needs.

Mishustin’s meeting with members of the Council of the Federation Council took place on July 4. Speaker Valentina Matvienko noted that Russia pays great attention to supporting the domestic auto industry, but work in this direction has not yet been completed. She asked to support the bill on the requirements for the localization of cars used as taxis and carsharing. She also proposed to supplement the localization requirements for participation in the preferential car loan program.

In 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the extension of the preferential car loan program. In March, the department reportedthat the program will continue to operate for citizens who most urgently need support. In the spring, the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy offered the government to consider increasing the amount of financing for the preferential car loan program in 2023 to 20 billion rubles.
