Mishustin instructed to allow local authorities to introduce measures of social assistance to the families of participants in the SVO

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin instructed develop amendments to give local authorities the right to introduce measures of social assistance and support for the families of participants in the special operation in Ukraine. Such an instruction was given following the results of the annual report of the Cabinet of Ministers in the State Duma.

The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Economic Development have been entrusted with making the necessary legislative changes, and they must prepare the relevant proposals by May 17.

Earlier, on April 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Local Self-Government declaredthat municipalities have a special role to play in supporting the families of NWO participants.

“It is necessary to know the needs and requirements of each such family – I want to emphasize this – each such family, to provide them with active, real assistance so that our soldiers are calm for their children, wives, parents,” he said.

In early April, Putin signed a decree establishing a fund to support participants in the special military operation Defenders of the Fatherland. The Fund will provide assistance to combat veterans who took part in a special operation on the territory of the DPR and LPR since February 24, 2022, as well as in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions since September 30, 2022, participants in the hostilities in the Donbass as part of the Armed Forces of the DPR and the People’s militia of the LPR since May 11, 2014, etc.

Sergei Kiriyenko, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, was appointed Chairman of the Fund’s Supervisory Board, and Anna Tsivileva, President of the Kolmar company and wife of the Governor of the Kemerovo Region, was appointed Chairman of the Fund. She was also appointed to the position of chairman of the board of the fund.
