Mishustin estimated the growth of real wages of Russians at 3%

The salaries of Russians in real terms increased by 3% over the year, and in nominal terms – by 13%, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting of President Vladimir Putin with members of the government.
“We have looked at preliminary data so far: in real terms – 3%, and in nominal terms – about 13%. This [за] year,” he replied to the president’s request to name figures on wage growth in the country compared to the same period last year (quote according to TASS).
As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted at the meeting, according to the results of 2022, real wages, according to updated Rosstat data (taking into account data on small and medium-sized enterprises), increased by 0.4%. Final data for the first quarter will be published later, she added.
The President also during the meeting asked about the latest inflation data for today. According to Mishustin, it is 2.3% in annual terms.
April 4 Putin declaredthat real wages on average in Russia this year should grow by about 3-5%, and real disposable income – by 2-3%. The President noted that in 2022, nominal wages did not have time to grow at the same pace as inflation, which reached 17%, but at the end of last year, real wages still grew by 0.3-0.6% year-on-year, and real incomes – by 0.9%.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova at a meeting between Putin and members of the government said that from 2017 to 2022, 3.6 million Russians raised their incomes to above the subsistence level and overcame the poverty line.
According to Rosstat, average per capita nominal cash income increased in 2022 by 12.4% to RUB 45,272. At the same time, real disposable money incomes of the population (adjusted for inflation and minus mandatory payments) decreased by 1%. Real wages over the past five years, according to Golikova, increased by 22.1%. As Rosstat reported, real average monthly accrued wages in 2022, excluding final data for small and medium-sized enterprises, decreased by 1% compared to 2021.
