Mishustin distributed duties in the council to meet the needs of the special operation

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin spent meeting of the coordinating council under the government to meet the needs of the troops. During the meeting, the goals and composition of the council were approved, as well as responsibilities were distributed among its members.

Mikhail Mishustin, who holds the post of chairman of the council, said that the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov and the head of the government apparatus Dmitry Grigorenko will become his deputies.

Mr. Manturov will be responsible for the supply of weapons and military equipment, as well as communications equipment for the targeted tasks of the Ministry of Defense. Mr. Grigorenko will oversee the regulatory and financial framework, as well as summarize the information.

As Mikhail Mishustin clarified, security measures in Russian regions are coordinated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. “Within the framework of the council, this will allow us to synchronize work with those activities that are being implemented on the ground,” the chairman of the council added.

Working groups will be created in the coordinating council, which will be headed by vice-premiers. The members of the coordinating council, according to Mr. Mishustin, will deal with many tasks, including the provision of medicines, medical products and food for the military.

Decree on the establishment of the coordinating council President Vladimir Putin signed October 21. It included several permanent members of the Russian Security Council, including FSB director Alexander Bortnikov, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev was not included in the Council.

At the same time, Mr. Medvedev heads the control group of the Security Council, and since the summer, on behalf of the president, he has been holding meetings on issues of the military-industrial complex. As Oleg Osipov, Mr. Medvedev’s aide, told RIA Novosti, there are no contradictions between the work of the coordinating council and the control group of the Security Council. The first, according to him, will deal with the issue of production and supply of military equipment, and the second – the control of these processes.
