Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, speaking to the State Duma with a report on the work of the government for 2022, said that, despite the “sanctions blow”, the Russian economy has demonstrated flexibility and resilience. According to him, direct support from the budget and the National Wealth Fund (NWF) amounted to about 1.5 trillion rubles.

“Support from the budget and the NWF amounted to about 1.5 trillion rubles. Under various programs of concessional lending to companies – almost another 4 trillion rubles. And this is not counting the guarantees of VEB RF for about 1 trillion rubles. We also restructured loans at floating rates and under programs of the Bank of Russia in the amount of about 6 trillion rubles,” Mr. Mishustin said.

The Prime Minister of Russia said that when implementing measures to support the country’s economy, the government relied on feedback from citizens and businesses. He noted that the authorities worked in close coordination with the State Council, the presidential administration, the Bank of Russia, public associations, companies and corporations. “Modern information technologies make it possible to conduct a coordinated policy in all sectors and the social sphere, to support their development at the expense of budgetary funds,” he concluded.
