Mishustin announced the undermining of confidence in world currencies by the actions of the West

The actions of Western countries have undermined confidence in world currencies, as well as the concepts of inviolability of property and business reputation, said Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, writes TASS.

“Due to the actions of Western countries, such key concepts for business as business reputation, inviolability of property, the obligation to fulfill contracts and trust in world currencies have been undermined,” Mishustin said, noting that the world economy had previously been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and now faced new challenges.

Speaking at the Russian-Uzbek business forum in Samarkand, the prime minister said that current and future challenges must be faced “only together.” According to him, “the world economy and global markets are in a state of turbulence.” At the same time, Mishustin during his speech recalled the speech of Russian President Vladimir Putin that the world has entered a period of revolutionary transformations of a fundamental nature.

In October, the chairman of the Russian government at a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries in narrow format declaredthat the difficulties in the world economy are associated with protectionism and unilateral sanctions of the West. Mishustin stressed that even in such conditions, Moscow is still a reliable partner of the CIS countries. According to him, cooperation between the Commonwealth countries continues to develop.

The Prime Minister also called for strengthening the technological independence and financial sovereignty of the CIS countries. He clarified that for this it is necessary to switch to national currencies and stop trading in dollars.

At the end of August the Prime Minister spoke on the strengthening of Western sanctions pressure on Russia and Belarus. At the same time, Mishustin added, Western countries themselves are also feeling the “negative impact” of the restrictions. In his opinion, the global food crisis was a “direct consequence” of the actions of Western states.
