The Russian economy is now confidently recovering, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the Knowledge Marathon. As the politician noted, even international organizations predict more positive dynamics for it.
“Now our economy is recovering confidently. Now even international organizations predict us more positive dynamics in the next two years,” said Mishustin, noting that in April the International Monetary Fund (IMF) “almost doubled its estimate for the growth of the Russian economy” (quoted by TASS)
The Russian Prime Minister noted that inflation in 2022 was less than 12%, contrary to forecasts that this figure will reach 20%, and now it is less than 3%.
From the previously presented IMF forecast shouldthat in 2023 Russian GDP will grow by 0.7%, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than expected in January. Next year, the growth of the Russian economy will be pressured by declining energy prices, so by the end of 2024, Russian GDP will grow by only 1.3%, which is 0.8 percentage points lower than the January forecast of the organization.
