Mironov spoke about granting the status of a veteran to the fighters of the people’s militia of the DPR and LPR

Soldiers of the people’s militia of the DPR and LPR, who have been involved in clashes with Ukrainian troops since 2014, were granted the status of a combat veteran. This was stated by the chairman of the party “Fair Russia – For the Truth” Sergei Mironov during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“At the beginning of the year, you instructed to work out the issue of ensuring that the people’s militia of the LPR, DPR, which has been fighting since May 2014, were also given the status of a combat veteran and all relevant social benefits,” Mironov said, his words are quoted by the press Kremlin service.

Mironov added that he had prepared a letter addressed to the president on assigning such statuses to volunteers who were also in the combat zone since 2014, but were not part of the people’s militia. The head of the party also announced a second letter to Putin, which provides for the expansion of benefits for visiting relatives of wounded volunteers, and not just regular military personnel.

On February 13, Putin began a series of meetings with the leaders of the State Duma factions before addressing the Federal Assembly. Earlier, the President of the country met with the chairmen of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov and the LDPR Leonid Slutsky.
